INTERNAL HALYARD / PRODUCT DETAIL

01 / CONFIGURATIONS

The right fit.
Down to the details.

Start with your halyard system. Compare the internal assembly and two heavy-duty external examples below. Gold and silver refer to the external ball finish.

02 / LIGHT OUTPUT

Output with
a purpose.

Choose output for the pole height, flag size, and surrounding light. These manufacturer ranges are a starting point; the exact model’s cut sheet takes priority.

LUMENS / STANDARD

800

20–35 ft poles
General flag guidance: up to 6 × 10 ft

LUMENS / BEACON PLUS

1,100

40–50 ft poles
General flag guidance: up to 10 × 15 ft

LUMENS / QUAD PLUS

1,900

55–100 ft poles
General flag guidance: up to 30 × 50 ft

Check the model-specific limits. For example, FlagCo’s 6.5″ internal 800-lumen model lists approximately 5 × 8 ft flags. Bright surroundings and larger flags may call for higher output.

03 / SPECIFY YOUR LIGHT

Four details.
One right match.

Have a pole model or drawing? Include it with your request and we’ll help confirm the configuration.

Choose external halyard with a revolving truck, internal winch, or internal cam cleat. Stationary and specialty poles need a separate compatibility review.

Provide the exposed height, top outside diameter, and flag size. Internal Beacon labels such as 6.5″, 8″, and 10.5″ describe fixture size, not pole diameter. The 6.5″ internal model fits pole tops up to 3.5″.

View the supplied internal truck drawing (PDF) ↗. Confirm the model and pole-top fit shown on your project’s approved drawing.

Specify 120V AC, 277V AC with the appropriate step-down transformer, or compatible 12V DC power. For off-grid locations, ask about 50W or 100W solar packages and confirm the package for the fixture and location.

Select Standard, Beacon Plus, or Quad Plus as appropriate. Truck finishes include Satin, BronzeTone powder coat, Black powder coat, and White powder coat. Confirm ball color separately. Request the visor for DarkSky approval and identify BABA or BAA documentation needs.

04 / DESIGN & DOCUMENTATION

Engineered for
the installation.

Understand the options behind the light, from shielding to project documentation.

American Beacon directs light down toward the flag and helps reduce upward spill. FlagCo reports 60–80% lower energy use versus conventional ground-mounted uplighting; actual savings depend on the equipment and installation compared.

Specify the integrated visor accessory for the DarkSky Approved configuration. The unshielded product photos on this page do not show the approved configuration.

FlagCo identifies its Beacon fixtures as BABA and BAA compliant and provides domestic-content declarations. Request documentation for the exact configuration and your project requirements.

Beacon Plus adds vertical lighting to help illuminate a flag hanging at rest. Select the appropriate Standard, Plus, or Quad Plus configuration for the pole and project.

For patriotic displays, 4 U.S.C. § 6(a) allows 24-hour display when the flag is properly illuminated during darkness. The selected fixture and installation should provide that illumination.
